Emergency Notifications

Welcome to the Bell County Emergency Management Emergency Notifications page. We have several ways that we push information out to the community. We use Social Media such as Facebook and Twitter as well as Call out notifications and text messages.  Below is information to sign up and stay in touch with us during a disaster.

Reverse 911 Call
We use a system called Code Red to make a call to all the phone numbers in our database. Currently our call out database contains more than 7,000 numbers. This is our most popular way of getting information out to the public. You can click the link below to get signed up on Code Red. Feel free to sign up as many numbers are you would like!

Text Alerts
In addition to receiving audio calls on your cell phone or home phone via Code Red we also have a text alert system that is powered by Twitter! All you have to do is text “follow bellcokyem” to 40404. You do NOT need a twitter account to use this feature.

Facebook
It seems like everyone these days has a Facebook account and as a result it is an excellent way to spread the word about specific events VERY fast. We use Facebook to release important information to the public and its share feature makes is really easy for you to share our information with your loved ones.

Twitter
Much in the same way we use Facebook to get the message out we also use Twitter to push quick and short messages out to our followers. When you sign up for the text alerts you will get the same messages that come across our Twitter Page.
